Hamas men marry 6-10 year old girls

Here are pictures from a rather large wedding ceremony in Palestine the other day. 6-10 year old girls were married off to men of the Palistinian Hamas organization. A total of 450 were married at this mass wedding.

Ken Robinson: Do schools kill creativity?

Just finished Robinson's book "The Element - How finding your passion changes everything". Its brilliant and opened my mind to intriguing new concepts about the reality of intelligence and creativity. Get your hands on this book, it'll change you and your head. Watch his TED talk for now:

Here he makes an entertaining and profoundly moving case for creating an education system that nurtures (rather than undermines) creativity.

Samoa switches from right-hand to left-hand drive

And some are less amused...

Rural Samoans have engineered a dangerous new solution to a government plan to switch to driving on the left: don't do it.

The Pacific nation is just three weeks away from a monumental road rule change but the Government is facing a growing backlash from islanders angry about the switch to the left side of the road.

The residents of at least two small villages have decided not to allow any cars through their town unless they are driving on the right as they do now, say the action group People Against Switching Sides (PASS).

Fiddler on the Roof

Filmed in 1971, this is an absolute classic about Jewish tradition and anti-semitism in pre-revolutionary Russia. My grandfather was very eager to see it, my parents have been singing and humming the soundtrack for centuries. Its good, seriously good.

German Baha'is launch good Iran blog

There's a couple decent sites that document the persecution and support of Iran's Baha'i minority. Now the Office of External Affairs of the German Baha'i community has launched their own blog to publish media reports, news, gov't statements and it looks like they have a lot we hadn't seen before.

Visit http://iran.bahai.de/

Had the pleasure of designing the blog. Very simple interface constructed with the Thesis Theme framework for Wordpress.

Design for Onemusician

We finally finished a personal project and set up a website to host lyrics, guitar tabs, and song sheets for the wider Baha'i community. The website now hosts over a 1000 lyrics and hundreds of other items. Creating a usable interface for a database of that size was a good challenge, and had it not been for dodgy Romanian programmers, it would function still smoother.
